🎁 Fiat Grande Punto Alternator Problems

I have a 2007 Model Grande Punto 1.2 sport 5 door. I loved the car the first time , I saw it and it gave me hassle free service for 5 years. Just last week I had a problem. While driving 120km on Free way:D I suddenly got this burning smell emanating from the engine compartment. I immediately Fiat Grande Punto diesel (56 reg) Alternator failed; new alternator fitted but seems to have a problem with power being drained and dashboard power warning light on. Well took the battery off the gp last night to put on charge had good voltage in and was showing nearly full on the gauge, left it over night and put it in this morning.
