There are also many other palaces, buildings and churches of note which are well-worth a visit. There is a very long promenade which stretches all the way to Palma city in one direction and to Arenal towards the east.
I went to Palma for a week last year in February. Much warmer and sunnier than the Uk, but not warm enough for sunbathing. Risk of rain too. Plenty of very nice eating places, and Palma is a lovely old city to wander around, especially in the narrow streets behing the Cathedral, and the pedestrianised shoppping area, and the waterside promenade (Paseo Maritimo).
