Seats correctly installed with a seatbelt are absolutely as safe as those installed with isofix (including infant seats on isofix bases). The difference is that it is difficult to incorrectly install with isofix, but you could do with just a seatbelt. It’s a bit like the difference between digital and analogue.

IIRC then ISOFIX eliminates the need to check for compatibility because you are not reliant on the seat belt and fixings fitted to each car to accommodate the car seat. ISOFIX takes away the 'maybe' aspect because it is a fitments standard. So I would not be too worried about compatibility. Quote.
